Provide accurate and complete interpretation services to facilitate oral communication between Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients, families and CM staff
Support patient safety and ensure that LEP individuals have meaningful access to information
Model exemplary customer service through delivery of interpretation services consistent with department and organization values
Perform other duties and participate in projects or committees that support hospital and departmental priorities or activities
Requirements
HS diploma or equivalent
Completion of Pediatric Medical Interpreter Training Program at Children's Mercy
Willingness to receive seasonal influenza vaccine as a condition of employment
Willingness to be vaccinated if non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of Tdap vaccination since 2005
Must supply immunization records if selected
Criminal background investigation required
Drug screen upon hire
Ability to maintain professional relationships with employees, patients, parents and visitors
