About the role
- The nurse manager leads with unit-based patient care services; including personnel and fiscal management and development of programs and services.
- Participates in department and hospital performance improvement activities.
- Provides family centered patient care that is based in scientific theory and is outcome focused.
- Personnel management.
- Comprehensive unit management and development of programs and services.
- Participates in department and organization performance improvement activities.
- Fiscal management and accountability.
- Actively participates and provides leadership for education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.
- Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/family which promotes optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required and 1-2 years experience
- At least 12 months of experience in clinical nursing.
- or Master's Degree preferred and 1-2 years experience
- One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
- One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
- RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
- Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
- Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Director) Required Upon Hire
