About the role
- Set the strategic vision and long-term roadmap for Chief’s high impact and in-person event portfolio, aligning large-scale national industry events and the ChiefX Summit Series with company priorities, member needs, and business objectives.
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of Chief’s in-person national large-scale events, from concept through execution and post-event reconciliation, ensuring a consistently high-quality experience.
- Oversee production and programming timelines, holding teams and vendors accountable to deadlines and standards.
- Provide senior-level production leadership across all event categories offered by Chief.
- Own all operational elements of events including food & beverage, production & design, rentals, staffing, vendors, reporting, and on-site execution.
- Lead creative development, strategic planning, and execution, including partnership activations for the ChiefX Event Series.
- Own and manage event budgets with rigor and transparency, ensuring costs are tracked, reconciled, and optimized.
- Provide regular budget updates and post-event reporting to leadership, highlighting spend, savings, and ROI.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality through thoughtful planning and negotiation.
- Ensure all events adhere to established budget systems, financial guidelines, and approval processes.
- Approach venue sourcing and vendor selection through a partnerships lens, identifying opportunities for value exchange, cost efficiencies, and long-term relationships.
- Lead venue and vendor research, scouting, negotiation, and contracting in both existing and new markets.
- Maximize partnership opportunities when booking venues, including added value, co-marketing, and in-kind support where appropriate.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with venues, agencies, speakers, and external partners to ensure seamless execution.
- Serve as a key point of contact across internal stakeholders including Programming, Community, Marketing, Experience, Product, and local Clubhouse teams.
- Provide clear communication, documentation, and best practices to ensure alignment and scalability across teams.
- Manage and mentor junior team members, contractors, and outsourced staff, providing guidance and leadership on-site and remotely.
- Ensure all events comply with local regulations, safety requirements, and company standards.
Requirements
- Bring experience managing complex event budgets and communicating financial updates to senior leadership.
- Lead small teams and external vendors with confidence, clarity, and accountability.

- Apply strong project management and operational rigor while maintaining creative excellence.

- Enjoy the creative curation of brand partnerships, thoughtfully integrating them to enhance and elevate the overall event experience.
- Create thoughtful, engaging, and elevated event experiences tailored to executive audiences.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with both in-person and remote teams.
- Stay calm under pressure and bring a polished, confident presence to both in-person and virtual environments.
- Embrace a “no task too big, no task too small” approach while operating at a senior level.
- Use systems and tools to streamline in-person and virtual event production.
- Remain relentlessly curious—always asking, “How can we do this better?”
- Ability to stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to cities across the U.S.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required by event schedules.
- This role is NYC metro area based, required in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays
