About the role
- Design and develop dynamic, scalable, stable, and cost-effective cloud architectures in Microsoft Azure
- Analyze and evaluate existing architectures, advise on and explain their transformation or optimization
- Advise on the creation or modernization of cloud-based applications
- Provide consulting on the expansion and further development of cloud-based system landscapes
- Develop best practices for cloud-based IT operations with a particular focus on security, compliance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency; advise on their implementation and ensure compliance
- Identify automation potential, develop standards and rules for automating cloud-based IT operations, and advise on implementing appropriate solutions
- Analyze performance-related requirements from business owners and application teams; translate requirements into tailored cloud architectures in line with the latest state of the art
Requirements
- Several years of experience designing and validating cloud-based architectures
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and architecture in public cloud environments (preferably Microsoft Azure) and in traditional data centers; Azure certifications are an advantage
- Strong consulting skills and excellent communication skills, especially when mediating between different departments and companies in German and English
- Experience managing service providers
- Flexible, quick to learn, and customer-focused
- Active listener who responds to conversation partners/customers; conveys enthusiasm for relevant topics and builds rapport on a personal level
- Highly proactive and self-motivated
- Additional advantageous knowledge and skills:
- Knowledge and experience with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience in operating and administering traditional and cloud-based database systems
- Practical experience with agile methods and working practices
- Practical experience in IT service management according to ITIL
- Knowledge of data protection, cybersecurity, and ISMS requirements
