About the role

  • Lead and manage core IT operations and Salesforce-based digital services for a 200-person organization.
  • Oversee a team of eight hybrid and remote staff and coordinate with external vendors.
  • Advance the Institute’s technology infrastructure and enhance enterprise productivity through Microsoft systems.
  • Ensure secure, efficient delivery of IT services, including Office 365, Azure AD, Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online.
  • Oversee hardware provisioning, software licensing, device and patch management, network performance, and helpdesk operations.
  • Manage IT budgeting, procurement, vendor contracts, lifecycle upgrades, and system documentation.
  • Implement business continuity procedures, internal controls, and segregation of duties to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
  • Provide oversight for Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and Account Engagement (Pardot); monitor data integrity and system effectiveness.
  • Align IT initiatives with organizational strategy, support responsible AI adoption, and deliver enterprise training programs.
  • Hybrid position based in Washington, DC with occasional after-hours maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 3 years in a management or senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a Microsoft 365 environment, including Azure AD, Teams, Exchange Online, and SharePoint.
  • Experience managing Microsoft licensing, configurations, and enterprise deployments.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and experience supervising teams managing Salesforce and Account Engagement (Pardot).
  • Experience with IT budgeting, vendor management, and enterprise software licensing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including identity management, data protection, risk assessment, and incident response planning.
  • Experience supporting organizational AI initiatives and integrating AI responsibly into enterprise systems.
  • Strong leadership, team management, communication skills, and executive presence; ability to work with C-level leadership.
  • Ability to manage crises, problem-solve, coach stakeholders, and maintain professional composure.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit, mission-driven, or educational institutions is a plus.
  • Occasional after-hours availability for system maintenance.
