About the role

  • Architect and lead the design of scalable, resilient DNS and DHCP infrastructure across hybrid environments.
  • Define and enforce DNS architecture standards, naming conventions, and security policies.
  • Evaluate and implement DNS security technologies such as DNSSEC, RPZ, and DDoS mitigation.
  • Lead DNS modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud-based or hybrid DNS platforms.
  • Collaborate with network, cloud, and security teams to ensure DNS architecture aligns with enterprise goals.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DNS engineers and operational teams.
  • Develop disaster recovery and high availability strategies for DNS services.
  • Oversee performance monitoring, capacity planning, and optimization of DNS infrastructure.
  • Document architecture designs, operational procedures, and governance models.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for DNS in enterprise architecture and security reviews.

Requirements

  • Expert-level knowledge of DNS protocols, DHCP, TCP/IP, DNSSEC, and related technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise DNS platforms such as Infoblox, BIND, and Microsoft DNS.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, routing, switching, and firewall integration.
  • Proven ability to design and implement resilient, secure, and scalable DNS solutions.
  • Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for DNS management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based DNS services (e.g., AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, GCP Cloud DNS).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on DNS architecture.
  • Relevant certifications such as Infoblox Certified Architect, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale DNS design and implementation projects.
