About the role
- Act as the technical subject matter expert (SME) on NETGEAR’s network security portfolio during the sales cycle.
- Work closely with sales teams to understand customer requirements and design tailored solutions using NETGEAR’s security offerings.
- Deliver engaging technical presentations, product demos, and Proof-of-Concept (PoC) sessions for prospective customers.
- Guide MSPs and SMBs through the deployment and implementation of products such as Next-Generation Firewalls, Zero-Trust Network Access, Secure Web Gateways, VPNs, and SD-WAN.
- Develop and maintain strong technical relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide feedback to product and engineering teams based on customer needs and competitive trends.
- Support channel partners and assist with onboarding, enablement, and technical training.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging threats, and competitive solutions.
- Participate in industry events, webinars, and other forums to promote NETGEAR’s security solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering, Systems Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or related technical role, specifically in network security.
- Proven hands-on experience implementing and deploying solutions including:
- Next-Generation Firewalls
- Zero-Trust Network Access (ZTNA)
- Secure Web Gateways (SWG)
- VPN technologies (WireGuard, IPSec, SSL, client-based and clientless)
- SD-WAN
- Strong understanding of routing, switching, and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.).
- Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear business value for stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with MSPs and/or SMB clients in a consultative or pre-sales capacity.
- Preferred Qualifications (optional):
- Professional certifications such as CISSP or similar.
- Experience working with cloud-based security platforms and SaaS-delivered security.
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
- Experience supporting partner ecosystems and VARs in a technical sales capacity.
- Familiarity with automation, scripting (e.g., Python, Bash), or infrastructure-as-code is a plus.
