About the role

  • Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) Mobile Security: global security technologies company providing connectivity & IoT, SIM/eSIM/iSIM and lifecycle management solutions.
  • NetOps Engineer to deploy and support mobile core and IP network services, ensuring availability and performance across critical infrastructures.
  • Operate and maintain IP and mobile packet core networks.
  • Manage incidents, service requests, changes and problems.
  • Support customer projects, deployments, and network integration.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and escalate to R&D when required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure SLA compliance.
  • Collaborate with NOC and cross-functional teams globally.
  • Support reporting, monitoring, and service improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Understanding of mobile roaming architecture including the role of serving networks, signalling interconnect and GRX / IPX providers.
  • Knowledge of 2G / 3G networking, 4G LTE and 5G technologies.
  • Experience of working with a range of telecoms technologies.
  • Understanding / experience of GRX and IPX networks.
  • Technical knowledge of maintaining on-premises equipment and cloud services in areas such as virtual machines, storage, network and security.
  • Experience in deploying and maintaining production infrastructure to achieve high levels of uptime and reliability.
  • Understanding of Networking Concepts and Network Architectures using Routers, Switches, Firewalls and load balancer.
  • Protocols: Diameter, LTE Signalling (S6a, S5, S8), RADIUS, Diameter Gy/Gx, GTP v1/v2, SIGTRAN, SCCP, SIP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
  • Technology area: IP Routing and switching (Layer 2 & 3), BGP routing protocol, IPSEC VPN, Wireshark traces.
  • Firewall Platforms, Linux O/S, MySQL and Postgres databases.
  • Virtualisation & Containerisation technologies, including Cloud (AWS, Azure), VMware, Docker.
  • Experience with DRA/STP, HSS/HLR, P-GW, OCS and PCRF platforms.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field.
  • Experience in telecom network operations (IP, LTE/5G, roaming).
  • Hands-on knowledge of IP networking, routing (BGP), VLANs, VPNs.
  • Skilled with Linux, MySQL/Postgres, Docker, VMware, AWS/Azure.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
