About the role
- Supporting startup clients who need accounting help but may not have a need for an internal team at their growth stage.
- Managing the entire accounting function for clients.
- Building robust accounting processes and systems for clients.
- Facilitating client meetings and communicating client needs effectively.
- Context shifting, prioritizing, and evaluating client needs.
- Collaborating with various clients, ensuring accounting functions align with their growth stages.
Requirements
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or something similar.
- 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a startup environment.
- Strong finance-based analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, reconciling physical counts with GL inventory balances, calculating COGS.
- Able to work through client requests involving prepaid revenue/deferred revenue + revenue recognition.
- Experience with intangible asset management & mark-to-market valuation.
- Experience with payment processing systems (like Stripe).
- Proficient in creating and managing monthly close lists.
- Experience producing tax-ready end-of-year reports.
- Experience processing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Experience producing financial reports.
- Strong working knowledge of software tools like Ramp, QBO, NetSuite, and various payroll systems such as Gusto, Rippling, and Justworks.
- Experience using Zoom and other video conferencing tools to facilitate client meetings.
