About the role

  • Define the purpose and strategy for Supplier Assurance, setting clear, measurable goals aligned to business and regulatory objectives
  • Ensure procurement compliance and third-party risk are effectively managed, monitored, and maintained in line with Bupa’s risk appetite
  • Keep up to date with regulatory changes and revisions relating to third-party risk management (PRA, FCA, CBI)
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures, including segmentation and due diligence to identify, assess, and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with SMEs (Finance, Legal, Infosec, Privacy) to ensure comprehensive supplier risk management
  • Provide guidance and support to senior management on third-party supplier risk-related issues and regulatory compliance and develop training
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small team of Supplier Assurance specialists
  • Support the Chief Procurement Officer as Enterprise Risk and Policy Owner for the Supplier Policy and ensure continuous monitoring across MUs
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and work with internal audit to identify potential procurement risks
  • Responsible for the systemic control and management of Supplier Assurance

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework and requirements of PRA, FCA, and CBI
  • Proven experience in procurement risk management, preferably within a large organisation
  • Ability to develop and implement risk management policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present competently and influence senior leaders
  • Leadership ability to lead, coach and develop a small team of Supplier Assurance specialists
  • Comprehensive analytical skills to identify, manage, monitor, and report risks at a senior level
  • Professional certification in risk management and/or procurement preferred
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience working with SMEs including Finance, Legal, Infosec, and Privacy
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and collaborating with internal audit
