About the role
- Help design and build Marathon's player pursuit engine
- Build the features that enable the game's player progressions, achievement and customization
- Craft the game's long term player pursuits to drive player engagement
- Build and maintain production-quality code using C++
- Collaborate closely with creative partners and a cross-disciplinary team to build new gameplay experiences
- With minimal oversight, design and build new technologies, systems and gameplay
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional game development experience using C++
- Effectively communicate with fellow engineers to jointly design, write, and review code by driving team consensus and alignment
- Effectively write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation and email communication, with the ability to summarize complex topics and achieve alignment across multiple teams
- Build and maintain production-quality code using C++
- With minimal oversight, design and build new technologies, systems and gameplay
- Nice-to-have: Experience working on systemic gameplay features such as itemization, crafting, economy, rewards, abilities, progression, retention, etc.
- Nice-to-have: Experience working on a live service game
- Nice-to-have: Experience designing and building networked game systems
- Prospective full-time employees located outside of a Bungie approved state must establish residency in an approved state within 45 days of start date
