About the role
- Acting as the lead solution architect on major bids, taking ownership of end‑to‑end technical design to meet customer outcomes.
- Applying deep specialist expertise to advise on a range of complex, high‑impact solutions across 5G, IoT, Edge, AI and XR technologies.
- Serving as a trusted technical point of contact for both internal teams and customer stakeholders.
- Providing thought leadership and signing off medium‑scale, high‑profile technical changes across BT’s portfolio.
- Driving sales pipeline with solution sales specialists—using your technology insight to close opportunities and deliver on BT’s commitments.
- Developing, delivering and evolving innovative solutions that integrate 5G private networks with AI, IoT and immersive (XR) technologies.
- Working in challenging technical environments with new or non‑standard components, ensuring alignment with BT strategy and customer objectives.
- Collaborating across BT’s business units and with external suppliers/partners to shape best‑in‑class solutions.
- Managing reporting on risk, solution design and bid status using BT tools.
- Delivering complex, high‑value work that pushes boundaries and delivers measurable customer impact.
Requirements
- Background in technical, network or IT service environments—ideally spanning multiple domains.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse internal and external audiences.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to stay ahead of emerging technology trends and translate them into meaningful business solutions.
- Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making and negotiation capabilities.
- Commercial awareness related to sales cycles, pipeline development and value creation.
- A solution‑focused mindset and the ability to make sound decisions in high‑risk, high‑impact environments.
