About the role

  • Identifying new business opportunities by shaping and recommending the pipeline based on market trends, industry insights and white space.
  • Focusing on early-stage opportunity identification and qualification, with full sales cycle ownership.
  • Building and influencing relationships with stakeholders across relevant verticals, including senior manager and C‑suite audiences.
  • Designing value propositions and feeding insight to refine messaging for nurture and ABM (Account-Based Marketing) activity.
  • Conducting market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitor behaviour and customer needs.
  • Identifying procurement routes and timelines to help shape early positioning.
  • Driving stakeholder engagement across regions or verticals to build net‑new relationships—including with well‑known high street brands and multi‑million‑pound organisations.
  • Leveraging industry tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, nCino and similar technologies to support effective prospecting and pipeline development.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in business development in the retail industry preferred
  • Track record of winning major acquisition business with corporate customers
  • Experience building new executive‑level relationships and gaining access to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working with high‑profile high street brands and large‑scale organisations with varying budgets, including multi‑million‑pound accounts.
  • Telco/ICT or technology sales industry experience is preferable
  • Navigates ambiguous, early-stage opportunities
  • Knowledge of industry tools such as LinkedIn Navigator, nCino, and similar systems.
  • Familiarity with ABM marketing principles and their impact on pipeline and engagement.
