About the role
- Contribute to R&D under supervision of senior scientist
- Culture, freeze, bank and seed mammalian cells for imaging assays
- Provide R&D with samples that have passed developed QC tests
- Prepare buffers, media, solutions and other reagents per lab practices
- Maintain lab equipment and cleanliness
- Perform and monitor inventory of supplies and reagents and place orders
- Provide hands-on lab support to reach department goals
- Maintain clean and sanitary work area and accurate lab records
- Prepare and deliver sectioned FF and/or FFPE samples for R&D (desirable)
Requirements
- B.S. in life science, biochemistry or a related field
- Basic knowledge around nucleic acid purification and characterization; oligo-dye conjugation
- Basic knowledge in molecular biology techniques: nucleic acid amplification and purification (RNA/DNA), qPCR, gel electrophoresis, FISH, DNA sequencing
- Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail
- Good communication (oral and written) and collaboration skills
- Willingness to learn new techniques and methods
- At least 2 years of hands-on cell culture laboratory experience
- Capability to manage large numbers of independent cell lines
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols
- Excellent pipette and liquid-handling and sterile technique
- Must be able to follow Standard Operating Procedures
- (Desirable) At least 2 years experience with tissue sectioning (FF and FFPE), H&E staining and mounting
- (Desirable) Experience with histo techniques including tissue intake, embedding, FFPE/FF
- (Desirable) Familiarity with DOE and instruments: Thermal Cyclers, gel-based equipment, Nanodrop, Plate readers, Qubit
