About the role
- Execute CFA Institute’s learning design strategy, translating learner-first and skills-based principles into practical, scalable design frameworks
- Support the adoption of skills-based learning through clear standards, proof points, and ways of working that can be applied consistently
- Provide day-to-day functional leadership to a globally distributed team of senior learning designers and contingent workers
- Bring together diverse design approaches across our credential and certificate curricula into a more cohesive, standardised practice
- Establish clear learning design roles and decision ownership while working in close partnership with Product, Learning Strategy, Content, Exams, IT, and Operations
- Embed learning design earlier in programme lifecycles, influencing scope, sequencing, and delivery decisions
- Build alignment, momentum, and shared accountability across a complex, collaborative stakeholder environment
Requirements
- Significant experience leading learning design or instructional design within adult, professional, or higher education environments
- Background gained within edtech organisations, professional or financial services education providers, credentialing bodies, or digitally enabled higher or executive education settings
- Proven people leadership experience, including supporting and developing senior practitioners, desirable
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Education, or related field
- Demonstrated delivery of learner-first and skills-based learning approaches, with evidence of translating theory into operational practice
- Strong grounding in adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies
- Experience working with LMS platforms and learning analytics tools; Canvas experience is an advantage
- Demonstrated experience influencing outcomes and building alignment across diverse stakeholders in collaborative organisations
- Clear, confident communication skills and a collaborative, delivery-focused leadership style.
