Assess aircraft hardware/software/firmware design to identify potential safety hazards and propose mitigation solutions
Work directly with customers and program teammates across systems engineering, software, mission systems, platform systems, flight engineering, production, and flight testing
Participate in safety hazard analysis and mitigation for issues identified during manufacturing and flight testing
Research and analyze potential or reported manufacturing issues (non-conformances, quality escape, FOD) and associated risks
Support identification of systemic root causes and recommend corrective actions using Boeing best practices
Define and validate safety, mission success, and airworthiness requirements and incorporate into designs, operations, and procedures
Participate in tests, analyses, inspections, audits, and simulations to verify systems meet defined safety and mission assurance requirements
Document safety analysis, hazard mitigation, validation and verification activities in compliance with customer and regulatory safety standards
Create and maintain product safety and corrective action plans
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree or Equivalent in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of experience in aircraft manufacturing, maintenance, or fleet operations
Experience in aerospace systems including MIL-STD 882 safety hazard analysis and air vehicle subsystems hardware and software design, build & test
Ability to travel 25%
Senior level: 10+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years experience in Systems Safety Hazard Analysis (SSHA), Software Safety Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) or equivalent
Experience with MIL-STD 882, JSSSEH, DO-178, DO-254
5+ years experience in aircraft safety critical design (flight controls, electrical, navigation/guidance, avionics, communications)
10+ years experience in aircraft production, maintenance, fleet operations (preferred for senior)
Experience in Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required post-start)
Must meet export control compliance: be a "U.S. Person" (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
