About the role
- Organize, coordinate, and drive execution across multiple Information Technology (IT) and Software Development project teams
- Develop and manage complex program and project scope, schedule, and budget baselines aligned to application management, software development and IT projects
- Negotiate changes to project baselines and conduct design reviews
- Manage the incorporation of quality management systems for IT projects and monitor project deliverables to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive roadmaps, trade studies and other technical initiatives
- Identify and negotiate for necessary resources to meet project goals
- Develop and execute project communication plans, including status updates to leadership and stakeholders
- Lead activities to identify project risks and develop mitigation plans
- Identify the need for vendor-provided products and services and coordinate supplier activities
- Lead liaison activities between the business or function and IT to understand priorities and develop strategies to meet business objectives
- Provide input and lessons learned on IT processes, procedures, tools, and techniques, ensuring alignment with quality management solutions
- Hold overall accountability for funding, affordability, and expenditures in support of applicable business units or functions
- Support critical software license renewals and work with Procurement Agents to provide vendor contract support
- Support cutting-edge products across BDS programs, Satellite factory, and BCA programs using modern applications and processes to drive innovation and efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 5+ years of experience with program management, project management and/or business operations
- 5+ years of experience in a software development leadership role
- 5+ years of experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions
- 5+ years of experience working with technical projects using Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- 5+ years of experience leading software development projects
- 5+ years of experience interfacing with and presenting to senior and/or executive leadership
- Willing and able to travel domestically 10% of the time
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (preferred)
- Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe) Certification (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience providing Program or Project Management leadership for IT or Software Development projects (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience organizing cross-functional teams (preferred)
- 10+ years leading traditional waterfall project management projects (preferred)
- 10+ years leading Agile projects (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience leading IT or Software development projects (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience building and presenting artifacts to senior or executive leadership (preferred)
- Experience leading digital transformational and global change initiatives in a corporate work environment (preferred)
