About the role
- Lead the design decisions resulting in best value to the customer by trading cost, schedule, and performance
- Manage development by tracking program execution tasks and measuring successful execution
- Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes
- Effectively communicate program progress, risks, opportunities, and trade results
- Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals
- Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
- Proposal management and development
- Lead efforts to define and execute implementation plans, negotiate and build consensus across a diverse team
- Collect, organize, synthesize and analyze findings and develop conclusions and recommendations
- Apply advanced modeling techniques to analyze systems
- Provide leadership to a team of electrical, mechanical, systems, software and manufacturing engineers
Requirements
- TS/SCI active clearance required
- Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
- (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 20+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- Experience in developing space hardware products
- Experience in developing requirements and verification/validation plans
- Experience in development, build and test of spacecraft payloads or vehicle bus (preferred)
- Experience in a dynamic rapid prototyping environment (preferred)
- Prior history working proprietary programs with Government entities in a classified environment (preferred)
- Ability to work with a supplier and diverse distributed team
- Integration and testing experience
- Proposal and Systems Engineering Management Plan development
- Strong understanding of the Government System Acquisition Process
- Ability to collect, organize, synthesize and analyze findings and develop conclusions and recommendations
- Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines
- Ability to apply advanced knowledge of modeling techniques
- U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 required for export control compliance
