Lead, check and develop the work of lower-graded employees in developing the location and arrangement of plumbing runs and associated parts for production mockups or design changes.
Plan and prove the routing of tubes, considering available space, specifications, fabrication processes, weight requirements, and maintenance needs.
Develop a sequence of operations for subsequent use by production departments and initiate corrective actions for discrepancies.
Set up, operate, and adjust tube fabricating machines as required for production tasks.
Work with prints, specifications, and authorized information to accomplish work assignments accurately.
Originate and develop new methods, techniques, and production aids to enhance work efficiency.
Collaborate with Engineering, Tooling, and Production to resolve developmental and assembly problems.
Fabricate plumbing templates and production aids to support work assignments.
Operate hand and power shop equipment to form, flare, and bead tubing as needed.
Analyze mockup and production requirements, assigning work based on schedules and priorities.
Monitor kitted parts and ensure they match work orders and are free of defects.
Provide instruction and guidance to employees on the assembly and installation of tubing systems.
Communicate assembly and production status to supervisors and leads across shifts.
Use precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy in work assignments and monitor the setup of tubing machines.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations and maintain personal and tool certifications.
Requirements
3+ years of experience working with precision measuring tools
3+ years of experience working with powered hand tools
3+ years of experience working with detailed work instructions or reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings
Basic computer experience and competency
Physically able to lift 35 or more pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift
Willing and able to work in confined spaces
Experience using a tube bender or similar machinery (preferred)
3+ years as a mechanic or technician (preferred)
High school graduate or GED preferred
