About the role

  • Seacoast, a GCG Company, is currently hiring a Warehouse Associate to join our big cuts team in Chesapeake, VA! In this role, you will be responsible for operating spooling machines, doing inventory control, and assisting with general warehouse duties as needed . If you are looking for a full time , direct-hire position to get your foot in the door and gain hands on experience with an industry leader in wire, cable, and industrial automation, then we may be the right fit for you! Hours: 7AM to 4PM Mon-Fri with an hour for lunch
  • Pay Rate: $19/hr + full benefits
  • Location: 3800 Cook Blvd. Chesapeake, VA 23323
  • What You'll Do
  • Daily set-up and operation of spooling machine to wind, spool, and package materials
  • Pick up and pull large cables onto machines
  • Run test spool daily to ensure accurate measurements and specifications
  • Perform pre-operational checks to ensure proper functioning of equipment
  • Measure cable before returning to stock to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Assist with general inventory control duties
  • Perform additional duties as needed

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing or machine operating experience required
  • Experience using RF scanner required
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Forklift experience a plus
  • Must be able to regularly stand, walk, bend and lift 50lbs
