About the role
- Define and lead the strategy for reusable data products mapped to a shared semantic model, ensuring alignment across domains and use cases
- Establish a central inventory and discovery layer for data products with transparent lineage, governance, and usage tracking
- Drive adoption and scale by shaping the foundation for consistent query patterns, reducing duplication, and enabling rapid access to trusted insights
- Lead a cross-functional pod and coordinate contractor teams, empowering delivery through influence and strong collaboration rather than formal hierarchy
- Partner with internal teams and clients to identify opportunities for scalable data solutions that deliver measurable value
- Design and implement a transformation roadmap to align distributed assets with a common architecture, focusing on opportunity rather than remediation
- Serve as an advocate for data transparency, usability, and trust, championing interoperable data across internal and external touchpoints
- Act as a connector and change agent, guiding others toward best practices and challenging inefficiencies
- Define success metrics and feedback loops to continuously improve platform utility, adoption, and client satisfaction
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in data product management, data strategy, or enterprise data architecture roles
- Demonstrated success in leading or scaling data product ecosystems using semantic layers, data catalogs, or metadata-driven approaches
- Strong fluency with modern data platforms and familiarity with data modeling, query optimization, and access governance
- Exceptional ability to lead cross-functional efforts without formal authority, driving results through communication, alignment, and influence
- Comfortable navigating a flat, fast-moving environment with distributed ownership and shared accountability
- Proven experience directing teams of contractors or matrixed contributors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical vision into business value
- Experience with metadata management systems and knowledge graph platforms is a plus
