About the role
- Report to Head, US Emerging Middle Market & US Growth Strategies and lead strategy & operations for Emerging Middle Market
- Lead and develop key strategic initiatives to meet client experience and financial objectives
- Drive and influence development and execution of large scale initiatives across lines of business and jurisdictions
- Partner with leaders and key representatives using a consultative team-based approach
- Foster culture aligned to BMO purpose, values and diversity and inclusion
- Attract, retain, develop, coach and manage performance of team members
- Lead launch of strategic initiatives, coordinate stakeholders and ensure project management best practices
- Engage sponsors and stakeholders to build consensus and gain buy-in
- Network with industry contacts to gather competitive insights and best practices
- Recommend measures to improve organizational effectiveness and advise on resource requirements and roadmaps
- Provide strategic advice to LOBs and solicit business input to aggregate strategic initiatives
- Lead leadership team assessments and develop strategic solutions supported by analytics
- Identify opportunities to drive innovation to enhance client experience
- Act as prime contact for internal/external stakeholder relationships, including regulators
- Define business requirements for analytics and reporting; oversee database frameworks and governance
- Monitor and track performance; ensure consistent communication of strategy and messaging
- Lead development and execution of communication strategies to influence behaviour
- Oversee execution of operational programs, design and implement tools and training
- Ensure compliance with enterprise governance; develop integrated sales reporting and compensation support
- Collaborate with sales, product analytics, client implementation and service teams to support onboarding, growth and retention reporting
Requirements
- Typically 9+ years of relevant experience
- Post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Transformation in a business banking or commercial banking credit underwriting operational environment
- Strong financial acumen for the business
- Ability to work horizontally with partners and cross-functional teams
- Preferred experience organizing town halls, preparing strategy decks, newsletters and communications to the team
- Experience leading and developing large scale strategic initiatives
- Project management best practices and implementation experience
- Experience defining business requirements for analytics and reporting
- Database management experience and adherence to data governance standards
- Experience developing sales pipeline and sales reporting strategies
- Experience with competitive intelligence and market insights
