About the role

  • Responsible for coordination of the construction on the substation project
  • Coordinates compliance with the schedule, safety, cost, and quality decisions in conjunction with the Project Field Manager
  • Provides the site construction teams the means, methods, and staffing to support construction of Substation
  • Works with EH&S group to develop and maintain safety program associated with Construction activities
  • Develop Craft Training and Certification program for lineman and groundman trades for Open-shop craft employees
  • Develops and maintains Construction procedures and quality programs associated with the Construction of Substation work
  • Identifies and supports the recruiting of craft and leadership associated with the project work
  • Supports project proposals including development of staffing, equipment, and other direct and indirect quantities and costs to support estimate development
  • Leads and participates in design constructability reviews
  • Active involvement in project risk reviews including identifying and developing mitigation plans associated with Construction
  • Assists site team in resolving problems and reports on issues related to drawings and information, schedule, quality, quantity tracking, cost reporting, and safety

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction or engineering and Craft experience and above preferred
  • 10+ years construction supervisory experience required
  • Direct hire Substation construction experience preferred
  • Experience with Outage Plans within construction
  • Should have 3+ years of experience as Construction Manager level or above
  • Should have 8+ years with a degree or 14+ years without degree, of Substation experience
  • Knowledge of project budget process and tools
  • Knowledge of department budget process and tools
  • Knowledge of Project controls
  • Risk assessment/management
  • Administrative policies and procedures
  • Construction Project Management Systems
  • Conceptual planning ability
  • Problem solving skills
  • Bilingual/Spanish speaking is preferred
