About the role
- Responsible for coordination of the construction on the substation project
- Coordinates compliance with the schedule, safety, cost, and quality decisions in conjunction with the Project Field Manager
- Provides the site construction teams the means, methods, and staffing to support construction of Substation
- Works with EH&S group to develop and maintain safety program associated with Construction activities
- Develop Craft Training and Certification program for lineman and groundman trades for Open-shop craft employees
- Develops and maintains Construction procedures and quality programs associated with the Construction of Substation work
- Identifies and supports the recruiting of craft and leadership associated with the project work
- Supports project proposals including development of staffing, equipment, and other direct and indirect quantities and costs to support estimate development
- Leads and participates in design constructability reviews
- Active involvement in project risk reviews including identifying and developing mitigation plans associated with Construction
- Assists site team in resolving problems and reports on issues related to drawings and information, schedule, quality, quantity tracking, cost reporting, and safety
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction or engineering and Craft experience and above preferred
- 10+ years construction supervisory experience required
- Direct hire Substation construction experience preferred
- Experience with Outage Plans within construction
- Should have 3+ years of experience as Construction Manager level or above
- Should have 8+ years with a degree or 14+ years without degree, of Substation experience
- Knowledge of project budget process and tools
- Knowledge of department budget process and tools
- Knowledge of Project controls
- Risk assessment/management
- Administrative policies and procedures
- Construction Project Management Systems
- Conceptual planning ability
- Problem solving skills
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking is preferred
