• Successfully partner with business leaders to understand the business needs and hire qualified talent to fill their roles
• Help develop, implement and execute recruiting programs and strategies to fill current openings and help build a healthy pipeline of qualified candidates
• Source, recruit, and hire roles within operations throughout Bird
• Own full-cycle recruitment which encompasses sourcing, interviewing and closing candidates
• Partner with other departments (People Partners, IT, etc) to drive the recruiting process through to on-boarding

• Design and develop scalable systems: Design, implement, and optimize backend and infrastructure solutions to support business growth. Deliver at least one major feature or system enhancement per quarter that improves performance, scalability, or maintainability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with product, data, vehicle and infrastructure teams to design and implement solutions that align with business needs. Provide actionable recommendations and technical feasibility assessments within agreed timelines.
• Ensure system reliability: Monitor and improve system health, proactively addressing performance bottlenecks and outages. Reduce system downtime by at least 5% annually through incident resolution and preventative measures.
• Mentor engineering talent: Provide code reviews, technical guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers. Conduct at least one structured knowledge-sharing session per quarter and set individual development goals for mentees.

• Month-End Close: Develop, maintain, and enforce a detailed Month-End Close Schedule, assigning specific tasks and deadlines to team members (AP, AR, Payroll, and Tax), while leading the close meetings.
• General Ledger & Reconciliation: Prepare monthly close journal entries, GL account reconciliations as assigned, and foreign currency revaluations.
• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare monthly consolidated and regional flux analyses, investigating drivers behind significant fluctuations to produce detailed reporting packages for leadership.
• Process Optimization: Partner across departments to develop and refine accounting systems and workflows, focusing on simplifying existing processes and establishing clear accountability across all teams.
• Audit Support: Assist with the fulfillment of annual audit requests by preparing supporting schedules, providing necessary documentation, and ensuring timely responses to auditor inquiries.

• Regularly maintain reconciliations of complex balance sheet accounts, including accrued liabilities prepaid expenses, equity, and inventory/vehicles, ensuring each balance is supported by appropriate documentation and that reconciling items are investigated and resolved within the monthly close cycle
