About the role
- Responsible for sourcing stock from Bio-Techne internal brands
- Maintaining European inventory for the European customer base
- Assist in managing, administering, and optimising inventory levels
- Shortening lead times and minimising back orders
- Supporting operations division to deliver an excellent customer experience
- Identifying and recommending suppliers
- Preparing statements of work for items proposed for procurement
- Developing potential bidders lists and formal requests for quotations
- Conducting supplier site visits and evaluating capabilities
- Mitigating company risk by developing alternative sources of supply
- Negotiating terms and conditions of purchase
- Maintaining accurate lead times for assigned area
- Issues purchase orders and agreements
- Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance
- Preparing complex reports and analyses
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- A first working experience in a Buyer/ Planner function required
- Accurate and fast data entry skills
- Strong analytical and communications skills needed
- Proficient in Microsoft programmes, Word, Outlook, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
- Experience of using Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems would be beneficial
- Previous experience working in a supply chain environment would be an advantage
- Fluent English, second language desirable but not essential
- A high demonstration of experience in a life science field
- Ability to manage the efficient supply of special and custom design components
- Experience of complex hardware manufacturing in low to mid volume environments
- A Team Player that can take the lead and guide peer departments and functions
- Must possess excellent communication skills – written, oral and presentation
- Proven customer support & training experience essential
