About the role

  • Engage with customers and other Cisco stakeholders on successful planning and execution of validation engagements
  • Support next generation Service Provider customers to accelerate implementation of new platforms/solutions
  • Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Drive requirements discussions, analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, author and execute test plans, and document results
  • Identify key issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them
  • Develop/integrate new technologies into lab environments
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects from Delivery and Sales teams regarding future initiatives and securing customer business
  • Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts
  • Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery
  • Identify and facilitate new business growth opportunities

Requirements

  • Deep technical expertise with 5G solutions for Service Providers
  • Strong customer interaction, troubleshooting, and consulting skills
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in easy-to-understand language
  • Proficient in customer-facing discussions and the technologies listed
  • Typically requires BS plus 4-5+ years related experience, or a MS with 2-3 years of related experience
  • Experience supporting SP customers
  • Previous experience in a customer support or TAC-style role
  • Ability and experience debugging and troubleshooting complex network problems
  • Routing and Switching experience, R&S and/or SP CCNP Required
  • Strong knowledge of PGW, SGW
  • Strong knowledge of Policing, QoS AMF, PCF, SMF, UPF
  • Strong knowledge of RAN, SMI, AUSF, UDM, UDR
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Star OS
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco DC platforms (N3K, N7K, N9K)
  • Experience in all or most of the following: ISIS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, LAN Switching, VXLAN
  • Programming experience/familiarity (Python / Kubernetes/ Robot Framework preferred)
  • Linux/Unix experience
  • Devops knowledge
  • Proficient with Cisco Test Tools; Lattice, Stargen, Calipers
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and formal presentation) in English
