Project Manager

• Work onsite at all six of the LAAS shelters for approximately 3 years in a leadership position
• Direct consultation of shelter and field lifesaving operations with the LAAS shelter system
• Plan, implement, facilitate, engage, monitor, and evaluate all lifesaving programming
• Continuously evaluate and monitor proven strategies and continuing education for attainment of organizational goals and to achieve no-kill by scheduled deadline

Senior Manager, Best Friends Embed Project

• Manage communication within assigned agency and with stakeholders

• Provide feedback and tactical guidance ensuring work maximizes value towards Best Friends' LAAS shared plan and goals

Manager, Best Friends Embed Project

Onboarding Specialist

• Serve as an ambassador and example of Best Friends Animal Society’s Guiding Principles by upholding a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, trust, inclusivity, and respect
• Support the administration and maintenance of compensation resources, including pay ranges, compensation guidelines, job descriptions, job profiles, and related tools or materials
• Gather, organize, and summarize internal compensation data and external market information to support pay range reviews, benchmarking, job evaluations, and compensation planning
• Complete assigned compensation-related tasks in Workday, including routine updates to compensation data, role information, job profiles, and related records, following approved processes and escalating questions as needed
• Identify potential compensation data issues, inconsistencies, or items needing review and escalate them to the appropriate owner
• Generate routine compensation reports, summaries, trackers, and data files to support review by the Director, People Strategy & Analytics and other People & Culture stakeholders
• Support tracking of routine compensation-related compliance items, including minimum wage changes, pay transparency requirements, and other compensation-related updates
• Provide routine process and resource support to managers and People & Culture partners related to job descriptions, role changes, new positions, promotions, and compensation process questions
• Escalate complex, sensitive, or non-routine compensation questions to the Director, People Strategy & Analytics or another appropriate People & Culture leader
• Help prepare, update, and organize compensation-related resources, including process guides, templates, FAQs, job change resources, manager materials, and other approved communications
• Support defined People Strategy & Analytics execution needs, including first-year journey and onboarding coordination support, materials/checklist updates, cohort-related follow-through, and other assigned portfolio priorities
• Maintain appropriate confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive employee, compensation, organizational, and system information
• Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation & Onboarding Specialist

General

• Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of CDI and L&D initiatives aligned with organizational goals, guiding principles, and workplace culture priorities.
• Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling, materials preparation, participant communications, attendance tracking, and follow-up.
• Support and co-facilitate (onsite and remote) learning experiences, including cultural competency, inclusive leadership, management-focused, and cultural awareness trainings.
• Track, review, and interpret participation, engagement, feedback, and outcome data to evaluate program effectiveness and surface meaningful insights.
• Identify meaningful trends, gaps, and opportunities and prepare context-informed recommendations that support continuous improvement of CDI and L&D programs.
• Consult with leaders and internal stakeholders to understand team learning needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
• Partner with CDI and L&D leaders to develop, customize, and refine training content using organizational context, participant feedback, and program data.
• Maintain accurate program records, reports, and data while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Manage CDI and L&D communication channels, ensuring messaging is clear, timely, accurate, and appropriate for the audience and topic.
• Collaborate with internal partners to support cross-functional initiatives, special projects, cultural celebrations, and organization-wide learning efforts.
• Coordinate outreach and logistics for external partners, guest speakers, facilitators, and vendors connected to CDI and L&D programming.

Inclusion & Learning Coordinator

People Operations

• Serve as liaison to our managers and employees and identify opportunities for collaboration in driving culture and understanding of Best Friends.
• Promote a culture where employees feel valued, respected, and connected to Best Friends’ mission.
• Collaborate on organization-wide engagement efforts including Sanctuary Welcome Week, New Hire Onboarding, engagement surveys, and staff celebrations.
• Support initiatives and conversations that build inclusion, belonging, and trust across teams.
• Monitor new hire surveys and exit interviews; identify trends and recommend improvements aligned with engagement pillars.
• Manage off-boarding processes with professionalism and empathy.
• Coach managers on performance management practices, conflict resolutions, leadership, and HR guidelines.
• Independently manage and resolve employee relations (ER) matters within the portfolio.
• Lead complex investigations to completion.
• Assist managers with team-building, communication practices, and development activities to strengthen engagement and team health.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with employees and leaders across the organization.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within P&C programs and systems by identifying creative solutions and fresh approaches.
