About the role
- Write daily business news and feature assignments covering funding rounds, market value changes, interviews, IPOs and Wall Street pundit commentary
- Cover news that is integral to the investment case for a business
- Pitch news items and feature story ideas
- Utilize traffic analytics to make informed decisions about news coverage and feature content
- Engage with Wall Street sources to uncover and publish exclusive and unique commentary on private companies, in part using public stocks as proxies
- Drive traffic and subscriptions at Benzinga.com
Requirements
- Minimum three years experience at a digital publication, preferably in the financial media sector
- Knowledge of the U.S. stock market and the world of finance
- Knowledge of news writing and reporting, AP Style, journalism principles and ethics
- Ability to produce short- and long-form stories
- Strong sourcing within the industry and the ability to tell a story with unique data
