About the role

  • Support sales and customer success, M&A, contract negotiations, strategic projects and much more
  • Support and assist all members of Benifex’s small-but-mighty Legal Team
  • Demystify legal jargon and become a ‘business partner’ to make sure we’re all moving in the same direction
  • Draft and negotiate a variety of contracts (variations, novations, NDAs (etc))
  • Contribute to the global evolution of Benifex and the Legal Team
  • Work closely with the other members of the Legal team, including dedicated time with the Head of Legal and General Counsel
  • Access a dynamic and varied workload of commercial contracts, corporate, data protection and intellectual property matters under the direct supervision of the Legal Counsel
  • Project work such as setting up a new entity in the Philippines, integration of Benify, implementing a new contract repository (Juro)

Requirements

  • Legal education, LLB or GDL (LPC / SQE desirable but not essential)
  • Prior legal experience (ideally in-house or private practice teams such as corporate, commercial, commercial property or insolvency) would be advantageous
  • Any experience in reviewing and improving contract templates, contract systems, practices and processes
  • Communication Skills: Can communicate basic information clearly and concisely. Can follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Critical Thinking: Can identify and analyse basic problems. Can follow logical reasoning to reach conclusions. Can question facts and seeks clarity.
  • Negotiation: Can effectively negotiate simple agreements to reach acceptable compromises. Can follow established negotiation guidelines.
  • Problem Solving: Can identify simple problems and implement basic solutions. Can follow established problem-solving procedures.
  • Legal Skills: Can effectively draft simple concepts and perform legal research tasks when requested. Able to perform contractual interpretation tasks and advise the business accordingly.
  • Organisational Skills: Can manage personal tasks and prioritize work. Can work to timelines and deadlines reliably.
  • Personal Development: Can identify areas for personal skill development. Can effectively participate in training and development activities.
