About the role
- Provide technical leadership and program management for delivery of technical projects across BCLC’s Lottery line of business
- Responsible for successful technical delivery and operations of technical ecosystems, portfolios, or product groups
- Develop deep product and technology knowledge to guide and optimize technical decisions and processes
- Lead complex initiatives involving multiple teams, optimizing value delivery and managing dependencies
- Plan, execute, and deliver complex technical projects across teams
- Ensure technical solutions align with business goals and program objectives
- Collaborate with teams and vendors to reduce dependencies and remove roadblocks
- Identify and implement program improvements and make technical decisions within scope
- Identify risks and opportunities, develop mitigation strategies, and report on risks
- Lead technical communications with vendors, manage contracts and drive vendor performance
- Lead or participate in technical meetings including team of teams, planning & backlog refinement, team synchronization, up to executive steering committees and act as an escalation point
- Provide people leadership that supports BCLC’s vision and values; mentor team members and ensure teams have relevant capabilities
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology Management, or a related discipline
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years’ experience in a leadership role
- A combination of education, experience, and demonstrated skills may be considered
- Deep knowledge of multiple technology systems, products and platforms
- Proven technical leadership across complex enterprise programs
- Strategic thinker with high level of business acumen
- Transformational leadership experience leading enterprise technical change initiatives
- Ability to build strategic relationships at all levels of the organization
- Exceptional communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills; use data to make decisions
- Demonstrated proficiency with project management frameworks
- Proven Agile experience, leading work through multiple product teams
- Experience managing vendors and contract management
- Understanding of regulated industries, cyber security, and privacy (desirable)
- Scrum Master, Product Owner, and other professional and scaled agile certifications (desirable)
- All candidates must be at least 19 years of age and legally eligible to work in Canada
