About the role

Maintain and monitor security systems to identify and address vulnerabilities.
Monitor and analyse security alerts and logs to identify potential threats.
Contribute to incident response and support investigations of malware, exploits, and other security events; analyse event logs and coordinate containment and remediation.
Escalate issues to senior engineers when necessary.
Help track and manage remediation efforts following security assessments and audits; maintain patch management records and support updates.
Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
Manage user access controls, permissions, and password policies; support firewall, antivirus, and endpoint protection configuration.
Discover privileged accounts; create, onboard and manage privileged accounts and roles; configure PAM policies for password complexity, rotation, and expiration.
Help train staff on basic security best practices (e.g., phishing awareness) and provide support for security-related end-user issues.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Security, or related field.
Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CEH, CCNA).
1–2 years’ practical experience in cybersecurity or related field (internships/entry-level roles acceptable), exposure to labs, bootcamps, or penetration testing.
Proficiency in Windows OS security, secure software practices, authentication, access controls, cryptography, and cybersecurity principles (confidentiality, integrity, availability).
Strong knowledge of network security, including protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S), firewalls, traffic analysis, and tools such as WAF, IDS/IPS, EDR, AV, SIEM, and PAM.
Experience in incident response, forensics, and vulnerability management; preferred exposure to penetration testing/ethical hacking tools.
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills; ability to collaborate across IT teams and manage priorities.
