About the role
- Manages a group of analysts that are responsible for performing complex business enterprise valuations to support the leveraged lending portfolio and other riskier loans.
- Responsible for comprehensive appraisal processes (e.g., development of risk policies, procurement of appropriate market data sources, development of valuation models, and development of comprehensive and summary valuation reports).
- Supervises and handles personnel staffing, compensation, quality control and productivity issues.
- Prepares management reports, develops succession plans, and provides professional guidance through training opportunities and professional development consultations.
- Keeps current on bank and regulatory policy requirements.
- Works with a high level of autonomy and decisions have a high impact on operations.
- The Commercial Valuation Services Executive is responsible for managing third-party relationships, overseeing technology platforms, and ensuring compliance with model risk management policies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services industry
- 5+ years business controls, risk management or related experience
- Critical thinker with the ability to influence senior leaders across ECGBR and partners to challenge the status quo, implement transformative changes and drive outcomes
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; focus on attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong horizontal leadership skills across peers; an individual who can indirectly and inspire a strong sense of camaraderie, accountability and motivate continuous improvements to performance
- Must have an Operational Excellence mindset -will often be asked to solve complex Risk issues but solve them in a way that doesn’t create complex processes
- Effectively packages and communicates complex content and information for management and senior leaders
- Proven leadership experience driving transformative change with strong track record of successful results
- Strong analytical skills, with an investigative mindset and ability to use data to enhance efficiency and develop reporting to drive business insights
