About the role
- Gain hands-on experience within the real-estate advisory industry and perform transaction advisory services
- Performing in-depth market and financial research regarding real estate transactions, supply, demand, pricing, and investment parameters
- Assist with valuation analysis on a wide range of public and private real estate entities using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
- Prepare and present the results of analysis in a clear and concise manner for client deliverables
- Summarize and analyze financial data including entity, portfolio and property-level financial performance and forecasts
- Conduct economic, market and property level research
- Develop unique valuation models and utilize discounted cash flow, direct capitalization, sales comparison approach, and cost approach valuation methodologies
- Develop narrative and summary format reports for client deliverables
- Conduct reviews of third-party valuations of real estate assets and entities and provide review commentary to audit engagement teams
- Assist with research and development of firm published thought leadership
- Maintain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise and comply with continuing education requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in a Real Estate, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related program
- Outstanding academic performance required, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
- Relevant internship, work experience and/or involvement with a professional organization
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel
- Demonstrated skills in time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving
- Organizational and analytical skills, initiative, adaptability
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- There is currently no immigration sponsorship available for this position
- Bachelors degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (DCA Valuations Analyst)
- Coursework in real estate and/or valuation a plus
- One to three (1-3) years finance or valuation experience required
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
- Strong writing skills preferred
- Availability to travel for client related work
- Progress toward state certified real estate trainee license, the MAI designation, ASA, or other valuation designations preferred
- Completion of USPAP and/or real estate valuation courses preferred
- Real estate asset management, audit or valuation experience preferred
- Familiarity with subscription sources such as CoStar and Argus valuation software preferred
