Account Manager

• Build and execute Backblaze's partner ecosystem strategy across OEMs, cloud infrastructure providers, ISVs, distributors, and marketplaces.
• Develop strategic partnerships with GPU cloud providers, AI infrastructure companies, and compute platforms to position Backblaze as the preferred storage solution.
• Build and scale MSP, CDN, NeoCloud, and xSP partner programs, including program structure, partner enablement, compensation models, and rules of engagement.
• Expand relationships with backup, data management, and data platform ISVs through technical certifications, reference architectures, and co-sell programs.
• Develop Backblaze's marketplace strategy across AWS Marketplace, Azure Marketplace, and emerging AI marketplaces.
• Design and launch a scalable partner program, including partner tiers, deal registration, enablement, governance, and incentive structures.
• Partner closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to create repeatable partner-led revenue motions.
• Build reporting and metrics that measure partner performance, pipeline contribution, and program effectiveness.

• Own the use case pipeline. Triage incoming requests, refine problem statements, size value, and maintain a prioritized queue across functions. Lead each use case through discovery, scoping, pilot, and launch - coordinating functional owners, IT, Engineering, Legal, and Finance as required.
• Do the workflow work. Conduct structured current-state assessments with department teams. Map how work actually happens today. Find where volume, repetition, or research intensity make AI a strong fit - and surface the use cases that would never appear in a top-down scan.
• Design the right solution. Evaluate whether a given workflow calls for an off-the-shelf tool, a prompt layer, a vendor product, or a custom build. Engage Engineering and IT when integration or custom development is required. Document baselines before launch. Measure the delta after.
• Govern the tool stack. Own the AI vendor evaluation process end-to-end: fit assessment, security and privacy review, pilots, and build-vs-buy recommendations. Maintain the AI Tool Registry with zero ungoverned deployments. Track spend per team monthly with cost-per-outcome visibility available to the executive team.
• Keep leadership informed. Maintain a live view of every active use case, its status, its owner, and its impact. Produce outcomes reports. Surface role and change implications early - before they become problems.

• Architect and implement guardrails for tool-using AI systems, including:
• Tool access controls and allowlists
• Context and memory isolation

• Apply mitigations aligned to the OWASP Agentic AI Top 10 (e.g., prompt injection, unsafe tool use, data leakage, excessive autonomy)
• Build enforcement mechanisms that govern AI behavior at execution time:
• Interceptors, proxies, or middleware for tool/API calls
• Policy decision and enforcement layers
• Rate limits, execution bounds, and kill-switches
• Design and implement identity and access controls for agents and automation, including:
• Short-lived credentials and scoped permissions
• Clear separation between human and non-human access

• Ensure all AI actions are attributable and auditable
• Implement logging and tracing for AI activity:
• Prompts, tool usage, and decision flows
• Build detection capabilities using:
• Behavioral baselining and anomaly detection techniques

• Perform agentic system threat modeling using MAESTRO, including:

• Lead and grow a team of software engineers contributing to Backblaze cloud services, spanning both customer-facing features and underlying infrastructure.
• Own the software development lifecycle for your team: planning, design, implementation, and post-launch support, partnering with QA and release teams for testing and delivery.
• Contribute to feature development and infrastructure improvements that expand Backblaze cloud service capabilities for developers, enterprises, and AI workloads.
• Ensure the reliability and maintainability of cloud service components through ongoing support, bug fixes, and technical debt management.
• Participate hands-on in code reviews, architecture decisions, and technical problem-solving alongside your team.
• Partner with Product Management to shape roadmap priorities and long-term strategy, bringing engineering perspective and data to influence decisions, and translate agreed priorities into well-scoped plans with clear milestones.
• Work closely with QA and release engineering teams to ensure smooth handoffs, clear acceptance criteria, and high-quality delivery.
• Champion the effective use of AI-assisted development tools; actively guide team members in adopting agentic coding practices and help establish team norms around AI-augmented workflows.
• Continuously improve team productivity: identify bottlenecks, refine processes, and invest in tooling, practices, and team habits that help engineers do their best work.

Manager, Software Engineering

Software Engineer

• Embed with a GTM function. Sit with SDRs, AEs, CS managers, or RevOps depending on the sprint. Watch their workflows. Find the leverage points. Ship the tool that removes the bottleneck. Focus on the build with clean code & documentation
• Build the intelligent signal layer. Flexible Pipelines that ingest signals (funding, hiring, product launches, usage, Gong calls, partner directories), enrich them via Claude and ZoomInfo/LinkedIn, and route them to the right rep at the right moment.
• Treat tools as databases, not UIs. Salesforce, HubSpot, Gong, Outreach, and Gainsight are read/write surfaces for agents. You'll build the integrations that make this real. Note: we may rearchitect CRM, other tools as the business sees fit.
• Ship AI agents into rep workflows. The ABC (Always Be Curious) agent surfaces accounts, captures call notes via voice, preps QBRs, and feeds intelligence back into the data layer. You'll build the workflows behind it.
• Move from prototype to production fast. Most projects go from idea to live in under two weeks. You own the full lifecycle: scoping with the GTM stakeholder, building, deploying, instrumenting, iterating.
• Translate GTM problems into systems. The hardest part of this job is not the code. It's understanding why a rep does something a certain way and deciding whether to automate it, change it, or leave it alone.

GTM Developer

Accounting Manager

• Lead end-to-end revenue accounting operations, including but not limited to daily invoice/order approval, credit approval, revenue accounting memo drafting, and audit support.
• Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP for all revenue streams (subscription, consumption-based billing, and other business models).
• Policy Ownership: Maintain, update, and enforce the company’s global revenue recognition policies.
• Audit Management: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors regarding revenue, deferred revenue, and standalone selling price (SSP) analyses.
• Close Management: Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close process, ensuring timely and accurate ledger entries, reconciliations, and disclosures.
• Reporting: Prepare revenue variance analysis, executive dashboards, and financial statement disclosures for leadership and board presentations.
• Forecasting Collaboration: Partner with FP&A to provide accurate data inputs for revenue and deferred revenue forecasting.
• Process Improvement: Design, establish and maintain scalable revenue processes and controls to support rapid growth and operational efficiency.
• System Ownership: Lead and support the implementation and optimization of revenue automation tools (e.g., Orb, NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management, etc.).
• Internal Controls: Design, implement, and maintain strong SOX compliance controls over the order-to-cash and revenue recognition cycles.
• Deal Desk Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Legal, and Sales Operations during contract negotiations to assess the accounting treatment and revenue impact before deals are finalized.
• Commission Plan Review & Alignment: Partner with Sales Operations and HR to review upcoming Sales Commission Plans. Ensure plans are structured for operational feasibility and evaluate their accounting impact under ASC 340-40 (deferred contract costs).
• Monthly Commission Calculation: Oversee the end-to-end monthly commission cycle. This includes calculating payouts based on sales performance metrics, maintaining commission schedules, and validating data accuracy across CRM and payroll systems.
• Amortization Management: Manage the capitalization and amortization schedules of sales commissions, aligning the expense recognition with the lifetime of the underlying customer contracts.
• Mentor and manage revenue accounting staff, ensuring alignment with business priorities and individual development goals.
• Experience in automating Billing to Cash and Revenue Recognition, using both existing tools, and emerging solutions that leverage AI.
