About the role

  • Generate and qualify new leads for Azenta’s Consumables & Instrumentation portfolio within the Sample Management Solutions business
  • Engage prospects across sample management facilities, biobanks, and the broader life sciences market
  • Follow up on inbound, ecommerce, tradeshow, webinar, and marketing-generated leads; assess customer needs and prepare high‑quality handoffs to Field Sales
  • Conduct proactive outreach via email, social media, digital campaigns, and light cold calling to expand the opportunity pipeline
  • Manage the early sales cycle in your territory and maintain accurate records of leads, activities, and opportunities in Salesforce (SFDC)
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support promotional initiatives and strengthen brand awareness for Azenta’s sample management solutions
  • Build trusted relationships with prospective customers, understanding their sample handling challenges and communicating how Azenta products minimize risk, improve sample quality, and enhance access
  • Coordinate closely with Inside Sales Management and support distributor alignment where early‑stage lead qualification benefits channel sales
  • Work cross‑functionally with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and support business needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Biology or Life Sciences preferred)
  • 2+ years of inside sales or sales development experience
  • Understanding of the life sciences industry, particularly laboratory workflows and sample management, preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal abilities
  • High attention to detail with strong time management, organizational, and decision‑making skills
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable working with metrics and CRM‑based reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems; Salesforce experience required
  • Experience with Sales Navigator is a plus
  • IT literacy and ability to communicate with varied technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Prior sales training, including presentation or demonstration skills, is beneficial
