Directs and supervises the reporting (internal and external) and technical accounting functions at Azamara.
Leads preparation of internal and external reporting, corporate policies, and analysis of technical accounting matters.
Manages preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements per bond agreements and statutory filings.
Oversees preparation of board reports, interim management reports, and earnings releases.
Directs preparation of debt covenant compliance certificates.
Oversees design and operation of internal controls over financial reporting to ensure accuracy of financial information.
Manages and leads communications with external auditors.
Serves as accounting lead on significant or unusual transactions and GAAP interpretations, working with Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, etc.
Serves as accounting lead on implementation of new GAAP standards, including research, implementation planning, auditor discussions, and control impact considerations.
Teaches and instructs the team regarding new GAAP considerations and industry regulations.
Assists with implementation and establishment of a ships controller role, including establishing internal controls shipboard.
Leads selection, design and implementation of a reporting tool and performs preliminary review of internal reporting requirements and documents.
Requirements
Degree(s) in Accounting from an accredited university or equivalent approved work experience.
Active CPA license.
Four to six years of experience in Big 4 Public Accounting.
Experience auditing publicly traded companies and familiarity with SEC reporting requirements.
Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and reporting requirements.
Strong basis in internal controls and experience designing/operating internal controls over financial reporting.
Experience managing communications with external auditors.
Experience implementing new GAAP accounting standards and leading implementation efforts.
Experience with NetSuite (or similar) systems is a plus.
Proficient in drafting clear and thorough written communications.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees and managers from different departments.
