About the role

  • Administer registered plans and process requests such as plan terminations, de-registrations, special withdrawals, etc.
  • Ensure enrollments, contributions and withdrawals comply with the regulatory deadlines specific to RESP, RRSP, TFSA, RRIF, FHSA (CELIAPP), etc.
  • Review, process and resolve all registered plan requests within the timeframes prescribed by service level agreements and escalate any issues that require management review and intervention.
  • Conduct registered plan audits with the OCRI within internal and regulatory deadlines.
  • Work closely with the tax, estates, transfers, new accounts and client account management teams on any updates required for registered plans.
  • Actively participate in registered plan committee meetings so fiduciary and regulatory changes are implemented in procedures and manuals, which must be kept up to date.
  • Monitor developments in CRA, Revenu Québec, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and trustee regulation by consulting legislation, press releases and relevant industry bulletins.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary education and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in registered plans or operations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on quality assurance
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
