About the role
- Administer registered plans and process requests such as plan terminations, de-registrations, special withdrawals, etc.
- Ensure enrollments, contributions and withdrawals comply with the regulatory deadlines specific to RESP, RRSP, TFSA, RRIF, FHSA (CELIAPP), etc.
- Review, process and resolve all registered plan requests within the timeframes prescribed by service level agreements and escalate any issues that require management review and intervention.
- Conduct registered plan audits with the OCRI within internal and regulatory deadlines.
- Work closely with the tax, estates, transfers, new accounts and client account management teams on any updates required for registered plans.
- Actively participate in registered plan committee meetings so fiduciary and regulatory changes are implemented in procedures and manuals, which must be kept up to date.
- Monitor developments in CRA, Revenu Québec, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and trustee regulation by consulting legislation, press releases and relevant industry bulletins.
Requirements
- Postsecondary education and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in registered plans or operations
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organization and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills
- Exceptional customer service orientation
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on quality assurance
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
