About the role

  • Administer registered plans and process requests such as deregistrations, de-registrations, de-allocations, specialized withdrawals, etc.
  • Ensure that enrollments, contributions and withdrawals meet the regulatory deadlines specific to RESP (REEE), RRSP (REER), TFSA (CELI), RRIF (FRR), FHSA (CELIAPP), etc.
  • Review, process and settle all registered plan requests within the timeframes prescribed by service level agreements and escalate any issues that require management review and intervention.
  • Conduct registered plan audits with OCRI within internal and regulatory deadlines.
  • Work closely with the tax, estates, transfers, new accounts and account management teams to implement any necessary registered plan updates.
  • Actively participate in registered plan committee meetings to ensure fiduciary and regulatory changes are applied in procedures and manuals and kept up to date.
  • Monitor regulatory developments at the CRA, Revenu Québec, Employment and Social Development Canada and trustee regulations by consulting legislation, press releases and relevant industry bulletins.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in registered plans or operations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to proactively resolve problems and strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional client-service orientation
  • Strong focus on detail and accuracy, with an emphasis on quality assurance
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
