About the role
- Manage Aviso’s New Accounts and Account Maintenance team for the Correspondent and Institutional Services business unit, ensuring team members perform assigned tasks in accordance with internal procedures and service level agreements.
- Provide direct supervision and ongoing performance management of Operations Services supervisors, who are responsible for the day-to-day management of the team’s compliance with service level agreements.
- Continuously monitor and manage team resources to ensure adequate staffing and coverage.
- Ensure Operations Services team members have the training, support and tools required to perform their duties, including developing and maintaining the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles, as well as the necessary system reports and tools.
- Identify and resolve issues related to escalations, delays, or errors made by the team.
- Ensure proper management of Operations Services shared mailboxes so that accurate, timely responses are provided to partners in a professional, service-oriented manner. This may include leading the development of a process or system to log advisors’ or partners’ requests and to track follow-up.
- Participate in planning and executing enterprise- or service-level projects or initiatives assigned by the Director of Operations Services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business management, or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in the mutual funds or brokerage services industry, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and talent management skills, including talent attraction and hiring, staff relations, and individual and team development.
- Strong business acumen, good judgment and problem-solving skills to act as a trusted advisor.
- Ability to work independently to achieve required objectives while complying with regulatory and company requirements.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to perform well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to make decisions, set priorities and build interpersonal relationships, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across multiple levels of management and staff.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken French and English to communicate effectively with partners, clients and colleagues across Canada.
