About the role

  • The Sales Representative is accountable for all sales activities, from lead generation through close, in an assigned territory, using a formal selling approach.
  • Develops and implements an Operating Plan to meet personal and business goals of expanding customer sales in assigned geography.
  • Provide VWR solutions to customers across PBI, E&MR, or Healthcare & Government market segments.
  • Manage a territory of many customers across various markets; prospect and establish new customers; manage pipeline; deliver proposals illustrating VWR's value proposition.
  • Maintain access to entire product lines; sell consultatively; determine customer needs and recommend solutions.
  • Work with sales management to develop strategic territory business plans; provide proposals and implement sales strategies; build and sustain customer relationships; expand role with existing customers; leverage resources to implement marketing plan and represent manufacturers.
  • Works typically in home office with extensive regional travel to customer locations.

Requirements

  • Education: College degree or equivalent/applicable education is required
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working in a sales environment is required
  • A proven track record of verifiable sales success driving growth with a consultative, strategic selling approach
  • Business-to-business (B2B) sales experience
  • Microsoft Office experience required, preference for Salesforce and/or Qlikview
  • Preferred: 3+ years of Sales experience
  • Science or Medical Technology background
  • Distribution experience
  • Prior or current work in a laboratory or research environment
  • Experience with dynamic, multi-collaborative purchasing decision and a solution based selling approach
  • Demonstrated capability to utilize selling processes (SPIN, Challenger, Miller Heiman)
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations
