Report into the Manager, Software Engineering to improve product quality by preventing, quickly detecting, and validating product and process defects
Evaluate test results, prepare change requests and generate measures to assess the product quality
Work with an integrated team of developers, product managers, product owners, and system analysts for test planning, test automation and execution, and product validation
Assigned to a SCRUM team operating in 2-week sprints; develop test plans, test scenarios and test cases based on the business, user, and functional/nonfunctional requirements
Participate in daily stand ups at 9:15 AM ET, weekly planning and refinement meetings, retrospectives and inspection phases of SCRUM
Utilize JIRA for project planning and tracking and collaborate regularly with the Product Owner
Create and execute automated tests using user-level test automation tools and/or behavioral-driven test scenarios
Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers to improve the overall quality of automation at Availity
Validate and document the completion of testing and development processes to ensure compliance standards are met
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent
8+ years of working automation experience
5+ years of experience with AWS
5+ years of experience with JavaScript (or similar languages)
5+ years of experience in business/systems testing
3+ years of experience with Cucumber with Selenium WebDriver
Must have working knowledge of test management and manual/automated testing tools for regression, cross browser and functional testing
Must have experience in an Agile and/or SCRUM environment; Scaled Agile (SAFe) is a plus
Strong experience using SQL for creating, updating and deleting for the management of test data
Knowledge of underlying technologies: REST API’s, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, Java, SQL, SFTP, microservices, and cloud architecture
Working knowledge/experience with Agile work planning tools (JIRA or similar), Source-control change management software (GIT or similar), Test management software (TestRail or similar), Continuous integration tools (GitLab Actions or similar), Application performance management (NewRelic, Splunk, or similar)
Ability to showcase an understanding of general testing techniques such as functional, integration, performance and regression testing
Ability to work cross-functionally: identify gaps across the test cycle, collaborate with User Experience and Customer Support, and provide insights on best practices
