About the role
- Manage and optimize Armacell’s end-to-end import and export processes and international trade operations
- Support Customs and Trade Compliance Manager with imports and exports and Trade Compliance issues with CBP and other government agencies
- Accurately classify products/components using HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN
- Utilize the CBP ACE Portal to monitor import/export entries, duties, post summary corrections, and other compliance activities
- Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners to arrange, track, and ensure timely clearance and delivery
- Facilitate requirements for US Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and other Preferential Trade Programs
- Audit import/export shipments to ensure compliance and maintain processes, procedures, and manuals for training/auditing
- Interface and collaborate with Business Areas, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Customer Service, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and R&D
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- 7+ years of demonstrated growth and experience working in Trade Compliance and International Transportation
- Experience working with customs brokers, forwarding agents, and other Partner Government Agencies (PGA’s)
- Expert knowledge of current import & export regulations (CBP, BIS)
- Ability to accurately classify products and components using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Schedule B, and ECCN knowledge
- Understanding US Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and other Preferential Trade Programs
- Understanding of restrictions associated with sanctions and embargoes
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Proficient in MS Office
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
