About the role
- Arranging premium audit appointments with insureds and/or brokers
- Reading policies to determine exposure basis for each policy
- Communicate with insureds, Program Administrators, agents/producers, and underwriters to obtain necessary documentation
- Perform examination of policyholders' payroll, accounting and financial records to insure accurate calculation of earned premium
- Analyze existing data, ISO rules, industry and statutory materials, and claims
- Actively work in the NEXUS premium audit system to pick up and complete assigned audits
- Use the Nexus Management tool to research issues, manage workloads and keep audit statuses up to date
- Review changes in exposure and communicate information to the underwriter
- Direct interaction with Program Administrators, Brokers & Underwriting team to answer questions about the audit process or results
- Respond to and resolve audit disputes, compile pertinent facts, prepare amended audits and submit for billing
- Perform other premium audit related duties, special projects, and mentor or train less experienced auditors as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years prior premium audit experience
- 5-10 years of premium auditing experience at either an insurance carrier or a premium audit vendor
- Bachelor's degree preferred; Concentration in Accounting, Finance or a related field is necessary
- Ability to read and interpret the coverages audited (Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Commercial Auto)

- Current driving license with good driving record & ability to travel
