About the role
- Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of stormwater and resiliency projects including drainage planning, green infrastructure design, and flood mitigation systems.
- Perform fieldwork activities such as site visits, construction observation, sampling, water quality analyses, asset inventory, and flow monitoring set-up and monitoring.
- Support professional engineering services during construction, including review of shop drawings, responses to request for information (RFI's), and permit closeouts.
- Manage tasks as a project resource, completing allocated activities to meet budget, timeframe and quality objectives and meeting or exceeding client expectations.
- Carry out investigations and analyses to support the development of technical solutions, as well as prepare documentation and reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with Arcadis requirements and relevant national standards and codes of practice.
- Liaise with project managers/team leaders and clients to ensure effective communication on project matters.
- Contribute to the resolution of technical issues on projects and provide technical guidance to other team members as well as collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design or solution.
- Review completed engineering work to ensure it meets specified standards and to further develop understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of the client’s business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to develop personal credibility in the industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in engineering AND EIT Certification.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or other design software.
- Experience with stormwater management calculations and green infrastructure design.
- Familiarity with computer programming tools like SQL, Python, or Ruby.
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, particularly using SWMM and/or ICM along with proficiency in GIS
