About the role

  • Developing, evaluating and optimizing seasonal finished good capacity and production plans within your portfolio of complex tier 1 vendors
  • Ensuring factory fill rates according to our negotiated capacity and arbitrating internally and externally in the event of over/under-capacity, according to our supply agreements
  • Working cross-functionally with the Raw Materials Supply Planning team to align raw material and finished goods production schedules and mitigate supply risks
  • Creating seasonal supply plans, optimizing global PO placement schedules and overseeing implementation of finished goods buy strategies across the team
  • Performing root cause analysis to identify service risks and coordinating mitigation actions
  • Managing and proactively communicating supply status and critical supply chain metrics. Performing analytical analysis, recognizing issues, developing plans for resolution and implementing and/or influencing the support of key partners to aid implementation
  • Working cross-functionally with the Sourcing and Quality Control teams to ensure bulk production ready dates according to the buy schedule
  • Identifying gaps and opportunities within Supply Planning and/or cross-functional processes, working with Supply Planning leaders or other department managers to drive continuous improvement across integrated business planning cycles and processes
  • Staying abreast of current economic and political events insofar as they affect your supply chain, and developing an excellent understanding of the supply chain for the finished goods across the supply network
  • Leveraging your expert knowledge of supply chain & production planning to provide input to Sourcing team on seasonal allocation strategies that best support supply delivery
  • Supporting master data maintenance and ensuring master data information in the ERP system, such as item attributes, planning, ordering/manufacturing lead times, are accurate and up to date
  • Developing, improving and maintaining FG Supply Planning SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) to drive process consistency within the department and promote best practices within FG Supply Planning
  • Leading and supporting onboarding and training for new supply planners, as well as cross training among supply planners
  • Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain
  • Working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building (at least annually)
  • Adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in Supply Planning or an equivalent Supply Chain position, preferably in the apparel or consumer goods industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain and/or relevant certification.
  • Expert knowledge of supply chain management, capacity and production planning, global distribution network planning and project management practices.
  • Proficient user of Excel and have ERP experience, preferably in SAP.
  • Experience with o9 or a similar advanced planning system.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated analytical capabilities and business savvy: with a focus on detail accuracy and a strong aim to improve existing process and systems.
  • Advanced analytical skills to investigate, troubleshoot, audit and/or resolve complex issues in scenarios with uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • Strong time management skills; work well with deadlines and under pressure, with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a people-facing role.
  • Not deterred by ambiguity and frequent changes in the world of supply chain.
  • Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right.
