Actuary

• Develop rate indications and pricing analyses
• Monitor rate adequacy, loss trends, inflation impacts, and emerging experience
• Build and maintain pricing tools, exhibits, and documentation used for internal decisions and regulatory filings
• Perform quarterly reserve analyses
• Monitor loss emergence, claim severity/frequency trends, and CAT vs non-CAT performance
• Partner with Claims and Finance to reconcile results, investigate drivers, and improve data quality
• Build recurring dashboards to monitor portfolio performance and emerging trends
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Data/Engineering, and Leadership on special projects

General

• Support a profitable book of business by accepting or rejecting new, renewal, and endorsement applications in accordance with company guidelines
• Maintain thorough knowledge of class of business and line of business trends, providing market insight expertise to help build and improve our AI-assisted selection and pricing models
• Collaborate with our internal actuarial, claims, and compliance teams on pricing adequacy, loss experience, and state-specific regulatory requirements
• Identify gaps in pricing market norms and modeled output; provide actionable guidance for underwriting and product team
• Monitor profitability and quality of submissions
• Keep up-to-date with underwriting, product, and pricing changes
• Price risks and place facultative reinsurance
• Model CRP and/or BOP risks to ensure accuracy in pricing
• Modify coverage terms and conditions to reduce pricing and eligibility friction and better serve our customers with insurance solutions

Senior Underwriter – Commercial Lines

Platform Engineer

• support Lilypad tech team as Insurance Platform Engineer
• build integrations and automation against the BriteCore API
• design and implement internal tooling connecting BriteCore to other systems
• configure rates, rules, forms, and product workflows in BriteCore
• troubleshoot platform issues and interface with BriteCore support when needed
• build pipelines and reporting automations that surface policy, billing, and claims data
• identify and build out opportunities for process automation
• partner with AVP of Policy Systems and Reporting to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• document system configurations, integrations, and workflow
• be the technical advocate for the PAS layer in product and engineering planning
