About the role
- Responsible to lead the operations of the facility by ensuring areas of responsibility meet objectives and client expectations
- Lead a team of unionized support service staff to clean and disinfect medical equipment, patient rooms, treatment and operating rooms, emergency department and other acute care areas
- Follow Provincial Infectious Disease Advisory Committee (PIDAC) guidelines to provide and ensure a clean, safe, and sterile environment for patients, visitors, and staff
- Establish and maintain effective client rapport for a mutually beneficial business relationship
- Ownership and accountability of operational management and financial performance of the unit
- Ensure the completion and maintenance of financial statements relative to the department
- Implement and maintain agenda for labour and total quality management KPI requirements
- Build revenue and manage budget that includes cost controls for labour, supply, and inventory
- Create value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls and profit management
- Understand performance metrics, data, order, and inventory trends; educate teams on key levers to improve margins
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma Environmental, Sciences, or Business is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in environmental services, preferably healthcare/acute care
- Minimum of 2 year’s supervisory or management experience in a similar setting is required
- Must have experience managing unionized staff and interpret Collective Bargaining Agreements
- Knowledge of Provincial Infectious Disease Advisory Committee (PIDAC) guidelines
- Models key leadership behaviours and ensures the highest levels of safety, quality and service excellence are delivered
