About the role
- Provide expert legal advice and support in federal and state employment law.
- Manage cross-region policy formation and implement legal strategies.
- Support the General Counsel and work with Risk Management to mitigate company risk.
- Train and mentor junior colleagues at country level.
- Analyze complex facts, exercise evaluative judgment, and make decisions.
- Plan and organize complex activities and contribute to business planning.
- Document processes and deliver projects within change management initiatives.
- Build relationships across functions and act as mentor or team leader.
Requirements
- Recognized Juris Doctor (J.D.), or equivalent. Qualified to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience enables job holder to deal with the majority of situations and to advise others (Preferred Over 8 years).
- Experience in both private and government law practice strongly preferred.
- Experience of coaching more junior colleagues (Preferred Over 12 to 18 months).
- Candidates must be within 250 miles of an APL Logistics facility or office.
