About the role
- Lead multimedia environmental compliance programs (stormwater, SPCC, air, waste, wastewater).
- Manage compliance for 100+ facilities across multiple states.
- Develop, lead, and mentor high performing environmental teams.
- Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring strong communication and excellent service while coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders including operations, legal, engineering, and consultants.
- Provide regulatory interpretation and compliance guidance across all media.
- Manage program schedules, budgets, resources, KPIs, performance metrics, and reporting.
- Prepare and review compliance deliverables including SPCC Plans, SWPPPs, air permitting documents, and waste plans.
- Develop and implement environmental compliance programs and corrective action initiatives across multiple facilities.
- Identify client needs and support account growth.
- Ensure safe execution of all program activities and reinforce a strong safety culture.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
- 12+ years of environmental compliance experience, including multimedia programs.
- Experience managing large, multistate facility portfolios.
- Proven leadership skills, with a track record of developing high performing teams and leading cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
- Strong program management abilities, including schedule, budget, scope, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, client service, and teambuilding skills.
- Strong technical writing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent safety record and a solid understanding of safe work practices.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations including EPA, NPDES, stormwater, air, and hazardous waste requirements.
- Experience managing environmental consultants, regulatory permits, compliance reporting, and agency interactions.
- Experience supporting environmental audits, inspections, and regulatory response efforts.
- OSHA HAZWOPER training or similar environmental health and safety certifications preferred.
