About the role
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data warehouse solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics and SQL Server.
- Develop ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Stored Procedures and Azure Data Factory to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources.
- Design and implement data models (star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables) optimized for analytics and reporting.
- Leverage Azure Databricks for data transformation, cleansing, and advanced data engineering workloads.
- Optimize performance of queries, ETL jobs, and data models to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security by applying best practices in data validation, auditing, and lineage tracking.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Automate workflows and deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and scripting.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Tableau.
- Stay current with Azure data services, tools, and best practices to continuously enhance the data platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data warehouse development within the Microsoft BI stack.
- Strong proficiency in SQL (T-SQL) and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with SSIS for ETL development and SSRS for reporting.
- Expertise with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL Database.
- Experience with Azure Databricks for data transformation and integration with Synapse.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, dimensional design, and metadata management.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline management.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Delta Lake.
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.
- Knowledge of data governance and security best practices in Azure environments.
